Talk on Bioinformatics

A talk on Recent Advances and Future Directions of Bioinformatics by Dr Madhu P.C was organized by IEEE Computer Society Chapter of IEEE Student Branch of Adi Shankara Institute of Engineering and Technology.

The session began with a small introduction to what is bioinformatics and how it can be beneficial for both computer science and biology fields for development. The talk later focused on the present developments and various donations to this field by various scientists around the world.

The future possibilities in bioinformatics were also explored such as the rapid advancement in gene therapy, cancer research, gene editing and drug discovery. The program also showcased how a student can contribute towards open source software available in the industry.
